I swear I feel like Zane Lamprey lately with all these blogs about wine and/or beer. I still have things to post about my Michigan Winery tour. I blogged about my first and second stops and still have five more. Oh boy. Eventually they'll show up.

Since my Milwaukee visit is fresh on my mind, I thought I'd blog about my visit to Sprecher Brewery. I've been there once before and enjoyed it. The tour is $5 and you get four samples and an etched glass.

The tour isn't terribly exciting. Although I love this painting inside the brewery:

Hoestly, I'm most excited about their sodas. I'm not a big soda drinker but we did pick up a few bottles for the occasional soda craving. Yum x 10.

MillerCoors Brewery Tour

I'm not a fan of Miller beer (sorry Miller). But recently, on a visit to Milwaukee, Rob and I decided to take a tour of the MillerCoors brewery. My favorite Milwaukee breweries are Lakefront (yum!) and Sprecher. The MillerCoors was a free tour with three free samples, so...why not. It's a massive operation so it was interesting to see. That's about it...ha! Enjoy the pics. :)

Goose Island Brewery Tour

I love going on brewery tours. I've decided I need to check out every brewery tour available in Chicago. I've been to a couple in Milwaukee including Lakefront Brewery and Sprecher's Brewing Company. Both were a lot of fun so if you're ever in Milwaukee, check 'em out.

Goose Island Brewery is the biggest in Chicago so I was really excited to see what they had to offer. It's $10 for a the tour plus beer tasting and a souvenir glass. Per usual, you get a fashionable wristband:

You're allowed to take a beer on the tour...bonus! It's not included in the cost of the tour but you can buy one at the bar before the tour starts. The tour takes place in one room where the tour guide explains extensively their process of brewing, along with a lot of Goose Island facts.

There's the obligatory Q & A but at that point I think we were all ready to chug (I mean try) some samples, so not a single question was asked. Ha!

The tasting was my favorite part of the tour. You're probably thinking I'm a lush but, no...it was just fun. I swear! The tasting was set-up in a communal style. Very different than any other tasting I've experienced. As you can see in the above picture, you get to try 6 different beers. The samples were not as generous as I thought they would be. However, the guide went into detail about each one; color, smell and taste. Other tours I've been on are not nearly as detailed when it comes to the tasting. We also got a souvenir glass. Another bonus...

....and totally worth it!

Three Sheets

There's a show I started watching a few weeks ago called Three Sheets. I love this show! I might be borderline obsessed. It's hosted by Zane Lamprey and as Wendy Williams would say, "He's a friend in my head." Totally. We would so get along. I'm sure I'd be on his speed dial and he would text me daily. He'd send me funny pictures of his monkey Pleepleus. We would probably go out on all night drinking binges and high five each other a lot. What a great friend....

So the premise of the show is this: My buddy Zane travels all over the world to different countries and explores the unique drinking culture each place has to offer. I would classify this show as educational. I learn so much from it. They should show it in grade school really. Ha! The show also has these ridiculous sound effects. Like when someone is drinking something you hear "glug glug glug". It makes me laugh almost every time. The show has been on for 4 seasons and there's a bunch of episodes I still haven't seen. Thank goodness for DVR because I can record all the ones I haven't seen. I feel like if Zane ever needed a co-host, I would fit right in.
