Midwinter Graces

Tori's new album comes out today. Happy Tori Day! I deem this a special day. A Tori filled day. Maybe I'll bake some Tori themed cookies based on song titles. Space Dog? Happy Phantom? Raspberry Swirl? Father Lucifer? Okay maybe not that last one. Or maybe not at all. It's is a holiday themed album but not a typical Christmas album. This (unfortunately) is not the album cover. I wish it was. It can be interpreted in many different ways and that's why I like it.

Love this

This next picture is the actual cover and I'm not so sure I love it.  It's robotic and unnatural looking. But I think (hope) that's the look she's going for. It kind of looks like she's being choked by a big gaudy necklace and praying for air. I'm on the fence. Sometimes I really like it and sometimes I don't. No offense to the die-hard Tori fans....

 Album cover

Regardless, I truly love Tori and her music. I have been a fan since 1995. Her music has helped me through the hardest of hard times and lifted me even higher in my happiest. I can't imagine my life without her music. There is no other artist like her and there never will be. She is under appreciated by most. But I'm grateful for her.

Thank you Tori.

  1. Tori, Tori, Tori! Ahhhh, so many Tori memories. I think it's going to be a Tori tribute day here in my neck of the woods....yeah, so celebrate her new album! Awesome! But who needs an excuse to listen to Tori?

  2. i have yet to listen.
nor will i until after thanksgiving.

i loathed aats...so i see no reason why i'd even begin to appreciate the new one.. but who's to know, really?

    that..and the cover is HORRIBLE!!!
    worse than aats!! LOL

she used to be my fave, man.
    she's maybe top ten now..

  3. Turtle (or can I use your real name?)-you were there when I first discovered her! So many memories! Every time I listen to Under the Pink or Boys for Pele you pop into my mind ;)

Brett-AATS is my least fav for sure. I feel like this one has to be better. If not I'm not sure what I'll do. I think I listened to SLG more than I listened to AATS and that's saying A LOT for me.

  4. Of course you can use my real name silly....and I remember that concert like it was yesterday....Good times! I miss those days sometimes....and i cannot listen to Tori without thinkin' of ya....
I have a pic of you and I sitting on the trunk of the LeBaron in Sherie's driveway. I keep it on my fridge. Fun times, my friend. Fun times.

  5. okay...Emily! :) Yeah that was my favorite Tori show and I've seen her about 8 or 9 times since.

I totally still have that picture too! Among so many others. I have a whole album of photos of you and me. Remember that picture of you in Sherie's trunk?!

  6. Yes yes and YES!! Hilarious! Remember walking in the old apple orchards in Chapin and you wrapping your shirt around your head because of the bees? I found those pictures last month and just about died!!

  7. Tori doesn't know how lucky she is to have such a devoted fan.

  8. Emily-the bees! I totally forgot about that! Remember that police car driving through and how we were hiding?! hahah! That was beyond fun!

Melissa-thanks! Hopefully one day she'll find out. haha!

  9. That apple orchard was all "The Return to Oz" weird....all the trees were overgrown...and then there was that ladder in the middle of it...remember how we climbed it and took pics? man, we were click happy (I still am....) I remember the Doctor's house in Kirtland... and looking for the haunted school house...that was great...I will never forget...

  10. omg the doctor's house I almost forgot!! Kirtland is such a strange place! I still have all the pics from the apple orchard day. The ladder ones were so cool!
